After looking at watercolours and considering doing some painting of my own, I decided to try something a bit different. Yes I stuck with good old, faithful acrylic, but I used it on a completely different medium, the human body. This may sound morbid, but plenty of popular artists share my fascination with human skin as a canvas . I was inspired to start playing around with this idea during my A-levels but haven't really done anything with it since. I found it difficult to get the perspective of the puzzle pieces right on such an angular (and slightly bearded) canvas, and although I would go back and tweak certain elements of my piece now, it has given me some great practice and inspiration to start a linked project in the form of a video so, as always, watch this space!
ps. I would like to give a special thanks to my model for all the patience he had whilst being smeared with paint, by a tired me, at one in the morning :)
